Seminar Report Submission Wrestling seminar @ the Zanshin Black Belt Academy
The following are some images from a seminar conducted for the Zanshin Black Belt Academy at their Biggleswade and St. Ives Dojo. The seminars were conducted over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd September 2006 by Tokon's Head Coach David Webb.
Class content:
Saturday- Biggleswade Recreation Centre Closing the distance (offence and defence) Clinching (the 'collar tie' and the 'underhook') Striking in the clinch (dirty boxing) The 'duck under' (near and far) The 'High crotch' lift Submissions (straight armbar; head and arm choke; the Americana)
----
Sunday- St. Ives, New Road Dance Studio's The wrestlers stance General feints and attacks The arm drag 2-on-1 (baseball bat grip) drill Head and elbow control Single leg attack Single leg takedown Attacking the 'Open Guard' Submissions (toe hold; Achilles hold; the heel hook)
On a personal note I'd just like to thank Linden Huckle and all those students from the Zanshin Black Belt Academy that attended the weekends seminars, hopefully some of what I shared with you will encourage you to experiment more with your game and that it has opened your eyes to the other ranges of combat other than striking.
All the best!
David Webb
